Construction Project Manager

Job Openings in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland Region

At Truebeck, your career will accelerate while you work with your fellow Truebeck teammates to collaborate on world-class projects in a fast paced, exciting, innovative and challenging environment. You will get the opportunity to be involved in business development, preconstruction, and lead all aspects of your own construction project. As you do so, your leadership, negotiation, and management skills will strengthen and further enhance your career growth.

The connections you make while building amazing projects will forge relationships with many of the top clients, architects, construction managers, and trade partners in the San Francisco Bay Area or greater Portland region. As for your project team, you’ll be a mentor to your Project Engineers and Project Coordinators.

When you were informed that the new project was located near your home, you never imagined your morning commute could be so short. You pull into the dirt lot and walk up the steps to the job site trailer. Soon, this tranquil scene will be an active and busy site with loud equipment, but you breathe in the misty air and enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts.

Your day starts off with meeting your valued client on some new scope they want to add. You quickly identify the project engineers in your mind who would be best to assist with these changes. The client shakes your hand and comments on how fast everything is moving and how they knew selecting your team was the right call.

Speaking of moving the project quickly, your Superintendent meets with you and both of you make plans to revise the schedule to accelerate the project duration based on a new creative solution you came up with.

After that meeting, you join in on a Team for Tomorrow committee conference call to discuss upcoming volunteer events. For a while now, you’ve wanted to do something to benefit the local children’s hospital and when you mention this everyone is quick to brainstorm ways to help.
Then you walk to lunch at your favorite spot near the project and you bring along one of your project engineers to give them their annual review.

This particular project engineer has been with the team for almost three years, has an incredible work ethic , and unbeknownst to her is set up to be promoted to senior project engineer. This lunch meeting is more of a celebration than anything else.

After a successful lunch, an MEP Coordinator comes into your office and asks you for help on some challenges she is having. Then, you interview a Senior Project Engineer for your project. They seem like a good fit, and as you say your farewells they express how impressed they are with the friendliness of your team.

Just as it was quick to get to the office, the return home is short. Tonight you have time for the gym and a home cooked dinner. When you turn on the game you see a shot of your 12-story HQ project right next to the ballpark and you smile thinking about how great your team is.

Wherever you start when joining Truebeck, there is always room for growth. We want our team to develop the leadership skills they need to succeed and we actively train and promote our team members to give them the opportunity to become leaders in the construction industry.

Truebeck Academy is our own in-house opportunity for you to continue to grow as a professional. As a Project Manager, you will have your own curriculum, course catalog, and schedule of trainings that will occur monthly throughout the year. These take place in our in-house training center with both Truebeck instructors and external consultants, depending on the course. Examples include:

  • Case Studies
  • Presentation Skills
  • Exterior Skin Systems
  • Negotiation Skills/Techniques
  • Leadership and Staff Development

Afterwards, you will get to do some social networking with your peers, Project Executives, and Leadership over a beer or cocktail in the Truebeck Speakeasy.

At Truebeck, our team comes from different backgrounds, demographics, and beliefs, but we all share something: our passion for building, our curiosity for innovation, and our desire to cultivate a workplace that feels like family.

As a Project Manager, you will play an integral role on who joins the team. You’ll be a part of shaping the Truebeck culture in deciding who we hire.

“I joined Truebeck because the company made me feel like family the moment I walked in the door. No matter how big Truebeck gets, what continues to impress me is how much they truly put people first. Life and business are all about people”

– Doug, Project Manager

At Truebeck, work-life harmony is important to our culture. We do our best to put team members on projects close to their home as well as letting our teams work out of offices near them. Beyond reducing commute time, we host activities that family and friends can join. We want our team to have a healthy personal and professional life and to thrive in both areas.

Our communities shape Truebeck’s culture in unlimited ways. We live and work in unique places in the world—nexuses of innovation and diversity—that have made Truebeck a successful and exciting place to work. By dedicating ourselves to service and giving back to our community in meaningful ways, we are investing in the special communities around us. You will have a lot of opportunities to volunteer and make a difference.
