Senior Project Engineer

Job Openings in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland Region

At Truebeck, your career will accelerate while you work with your fellow Truebeck teammates to collaborate on world-class projects in a fast paced, exciting, innovative and challenging environment. You will get the opportunity to be involved in business development, preconstruction, and work on all aspects of your construction project. You will develop as a leader, strengthening your negotiation skills and management skills to prepare you to be a strong Project Manager.

You will get to build amazing projects while working alongside your team, and forge relationships with many of the top clients, architects, construction managers, and trade partners in the San Francisco Bay Area or greater Portland region.

As you walk into the office, the smell of breakfast immediately catches your attention. It’s Friday and that means, breakfast burritos. As you boot up your computer, you are reminded of your first meeting of the day, a Team for Tomorrow committee conference call to collaborate on the upcoming Truebeck sponsored event benefiting your favorite charity. #RaceForTheCure.

With a full belly, the next item on your list is your Superintendent meeting to revise a schedule and accelerate the project duration. The meeting is based on an idea you shared and the superintendent gives you a high-five.

Nearing lunchtime, your Project Manager calls you over to review the latest update to the Budget/Cost report (BFR) that you’ve prepared. He remarks you’ve done an amazing job and he coaches you on some of the best practices to further enhance your work.

Now it’s lunch and you join a bunch of your team members on a walk to your favorite sandwich spot by the jobsite. You all talk about the Truebeck basketball league game coming up this week and protecting your undefeated record.

When you get back to the office, a project engineer you work closely with asks for your help on a new submittal type she is learning to do. You remember struggling with this exact same challenge, but with your help, your team member quickly grasps what to do. In your head you silently thank the senior project engineer who mentored you on that exact same submittal.

As the day comes to a close you sit down with your Project Manager for your weekly one-on-one meeting. The meeting is open for you to ask questions, review your current tasks, and just talk about how life is going. It’s one of your most important meetings every week and your Project Manager has really become a mentor.

Lastly, you interview a potential new Project Engineer and you feel that this particular candidate will be a good fit for the team. You make your recommendation to your Project Manager and then with one last farewell you’re out the door.

The sun is starting to set over the project you’ve worked so hard to build. You remember when it was nothing more than a dirt lot, but now it’s an 11-story building. Whipping out your phone, you get an amazing shot of the exterior of the building with the sun reflecting off the glass. You swipe over to Instagram and post the image. Another day of doing what you love.

Wherever you start when joining Truebeck, there is always room for growth. We want our team to develop the leadership skills they need to succeed and we actively train and promote our team members to give them the opportunity to become leaders in the construction industry.

Truebeck Academy is our own in-house training program for you to continue to grow as a leader. As a Project Engineer, you will have your own curriculum, course catalog, and schedule of training events that will occur monthly throughout the year. • Innovation in Construction Technologies
  • Leadership Development
  • Field Operations Management

Afterwards, you will get to do some social networking with your peers, Project Managers, Project Executives, and Leadership over a beer or cocktail in the Truebeck Speakeasy.

“One of my favorite things about Truebeck is the diversity of the team that I get to work with in the interiors group. Truebeck’s vibrant culture and innovation is why I joined the team almost two years ago!”

Norris Cooper
