Job Openings in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland Region

At Truebeck, your career will accelerate while you work with your fellow Truebeck teammates to collaborate on world-class projects in a fast paced, exciting, innovative and challenging environment. You will get the opportunity to be involved in business development, preconstruction, and work on all aspects of your construction project. You will develop as a leader, strengthening your negotiation skills and management skills.

You will get to build amazing projects while working alongside your team, and forge relationships with many of the top clients, architects, construction managers, and trade partners in the San Francisco Bay Area or greater Portland region.

The elevator doors slide open letting you stroll into the office where you wave good morning to the front office coordinator. On your way to your desk, you make a pit-stop in the kitchen to grab a quick snack before settling in. You adjust your standing desk so you can stretch out your legs, after sitting in the car, sitting just doesn’t sound appealing.

With snack in hand, you kick the day off meeting with your valued client on a new scope they want to add. You walk through the client’s vision as you creatively provide the best solution while maintaining the budget and enhancing the project’s value.

After, you join in on a Team for Tomorrow committee conference call to collaborate on the upcoming Truebeck sponsored half-marathon team benefitting your favorite charity. #RaceForTheCure!

Next, you build a comparison for your client of different skin systems with their pros/cons based on design attributes, quality, availability, long-term maintenance, and cost. Your client thanks you for going the extra mile to show them all the options and for providing them with your honest and professional opinion.

A grumble in your stomach reminds you it’s lunchtime, so you drive to an office-favorite restaurant nearby and meet a friend who happens to be the architect from your last project. You exchange leads on new projects and enjoy some laughs about the experiences you had working together.

Then it’s back to the office to meet a new trade partner who you are considering for a new design-build opportunity, followed by a meeting with a different client to present a DD estimate that you lead.

Of course it’s only a few weeks out from Halloween, so you coordinate with marketing to discuss your upcoming role in the annual Precon Halloween video. Lastly, you interview an estimator you think is a great fit to join you on the preconstruction team.

Wherever you start when joining Truebeck, there is always room for growth. We want our team to develop the leadership skills they need to succeed and we actively train and promote our team members to give them the opportunity to become leaders in the construction industry.

Truebeck Academy is our own in-house training program for you to continue to grow as a leader. As a preconstruction team member, you will have your own curriculum, course catalog, and schedule of training events that will occur monthly throughout the year. These take place in our in-house training center with both Truebeck leaders and external consultants, depending on the course. Examples include:

  •   Case Studies
  •   Presentation Skills
  •   Exterior Skin Systems

Afterwards, you will get to do some social networking with your peers, precon executives and leadership over a beer or cocktail in the Truebeck Speakeasy.

A cost engineer today doesn’t do their job the same as cost engineers even five years ago. This is in large part due to technological advances that shape how the role functions.

Truebeck is a true leader in construction innovation. We have a team dedicated to the research and development of the latest hardware and software in our industry. We call this Construction, Technology, and Innovation (CTI). Our culture of innovation and technical building has given us the opportunity to build for some of the world’s most innovative companies. Embracing creativity and technology makes your team member’s jobs more exciting and efficient. Examples include:

  • 5D estimating
  • Data-driven analytics
  • Model assembly and take-off
  • In house laser scanning of existing buildings

At Truebeck, our team comes from different backgrounds, demographics, and beliefs, but we all share something: our passion for building, our curiosity for innovation, and our desire to cultivate a workplace that is warm and open like a family.

As a member of the preconstruction team, you will play an integral role on who joins the team. You’ll be a part of shaping the Truebeck culture and a voice in deciding who joins the team.

I joined Truebeck because we are leading the industry in technology and work with top bay area clients on projects. My favorite part of being a senior cost engineer at Truebeck is being able to be yourself. Since joining Truebeck I’ve been a part of over 20 projects and have continued my passion for staying involved in the local communities!

Justin, Senior Cost Engineer

At Truebeck, work-life harmony is important to our culture. We often allow our teams to work out of offices near them. Beyond reducing commute time, we host activities that family and friends can join. We want our team to have a healthy personal and professional life and to thrive in both areas.

Our communities shape Truebeck’s culture in unlimited ways. We live and work in unique places in the world—nexuses of innovation and diversity—that have made Truebeck a successful and exciting place to work. By dedicating ourselves to service and giving back to our community in meaningful ways, we are investing in the special communities around us. You will have a lot of opportunities to volunteer and make a difference.
