Truebeck Awarded Pescadero Fire Station No. 59 Project
Truebeck Construction has been selected by the County of San Mateo to deliver the replacement of Pescadero Fire Station No. 59, a critical public safety facility serving California’s South Coast. The project will provide a resilient, next‑generation fire station designed to enhance emergency response while addressing long‑standing flood risks at the existing site.
The new, ground‑up fire station will be constructed on a 1.75‑acre site at 350–360 Butano Cut‑Off Road in Pescadero, co‑located with the Pescadero Middle/High School campus on property owned by the La Honda‑Pescadero Unified School District. The relocation moves this essential Cal Fire facility out of a flood‑prone area that has experienced chronic seasonal inundation, ensuring uninterrupted emergency operations during extreme weather events.
Designed by Perkins & Will, the project is mass timber construction, reflecting San Mateo County’s commitment to sustainable, low‑carbon public infrastructure while delivering a durable, high‑performance facility built to serve the community for generations.
This effort will strengthen wildfire response capacity along the South Coast while delivering resilient, community‑focused infrastructure critical to the region’s safety and preparedness. Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2026.
Truebeck will partner with Perkins & Will as the architect, BKF Engineers, DCI Engineers, and PAE along with additional project partners to be announced.
The Pescadero Fire Station No. 59 Replacement Project builds on Truebeck’s ongoing work with the County of San Mateo, including the recently completed mass timber 500 County Center and the San Mateo Medical Center Health Campus.
