It was a beautiful weekend in San Francisco, and some of our team members spent their Saturday volunteering to clean up Baker Beach. Every year Truebeck partners with Surfrider Foundation to help keep our beaches healthy. We participate in their monthly beach cleanups at Baker Beach and Ocean Beach in San Francisco.
Team for Tomorrow is always looking to make a positive impact on our local environment, and we will be looking to set up another beach cleanup sometime in the summer. Stay tuned!
This week, Truebeck attended the annual American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) Planning, Design & Construction Summit in San Diego. More than 3,000 people attended this year’s PDC Summit, which focused on health care’s Triple Aim: better population health, improved patient experiences, and lower costs. The PDC Summit offers cutting-edge topics affecting the future of the health care built environment and presents thought-provoking research and presentations focusing on cross-team collaboration, PDC sustainability, designing for future generations, and technology integration.
The event was an opportunity to network with healthcare industry professionals, including hospital administrators, architects, interior designers, construction professionals, and health care facility management. Truebeck promoted our healthcare experience at a booth in the Exhibit Hall and hosted a private happy hour for our contacts in the healthcare sector.
Dan Amigone had this to say:
“Truebeck had a great experience at ASHE. We all got a chance to meet new people in the world of Healthcare Planning, Design and Construction. There was a good mix of clients, design professionals and vendors. We got the word out that Truebeck has a strong pool of talented healthcare professionals. It was great to see what is going on in the industry, both locally and nationally.”
Last night Truebeck (formerly BNBT) was honored by the San Francisco Business Times as a Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Company in the Bay Area. Hundreds of business leaders gathered at the Fairmont San Francisco to celebrate the fastest growing companies across all industries.
Business boomed for the Bay Area’s 100 fastest-growing private companies in 2014 — all saw their revenue grow by at least 50 percent over 2012, and in some cases, more than 1,000 percent. Collectively, the 100 companies that made the List exhibited an impressive median revenue growth rate of 123 percent over the past three years. During that time, the companies collectively added 5,100 jobs.

The 12th consecutive running of the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco kicked off at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18 with more than 25,000 runners, including Olympic athletes and celebrities, AND 15 Truebeckers! This 13.1 mile route began in Union Square and weaved through Golden Gate Park. After racing alongside the Presidio and past the Golden Gate Bridge, it’s a sprint toward the finish in the Marina.
Our team members challenged themselves, tested their limits, and left their comfort zones behind. They ran to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – to help change the lives of blood cancer patients. Truebeck admires your dedication, strength, success and personal bests!
Last Saturday BNBT hit Ocean Beach in San Francisco for one of our signature Team for Tomorrow events benefiting Leap Arts in Education. BNBT, along with industry partners Taylor Design, Cody Anderson Wasney Architects, Rutherford + Chekene, and Audio Visual Design Group, helped students from Lafayette Elementary School in San Francisco build the sandcastle of their dreams. Over 65 students showed up with their families to learn more about architecture and construction while having a spectacular day at the beach with their peers.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and brought their families. It was great to see so many BNBT kids having fun!
Our team also raised $3,105 for Leap, which provides educational programs — in music, dance, theatre, creative writing, visual arts, and architecture — and serves over 7,000 students in 25 elementary and middle schools throughout the Bay Area.
Mission Bay continues to be one of San Francisco’s most exciting, vibrant and new neighborhoods. On Tuesday, February 3rd, Sean Truesdale opened the Five Mega Projects of Mission Bay event, introduced the all-star panel and shared Truebeck’s (formerly BNB) excitement to be part of the growth and future of Mission Bay. Over 500 attendees from our industry came to hear about the new Uber campus, the new Warrriors Stadium, Kilroy’s new mixed use project, Mission Bay Development Group’s plans, and the city’s transportation expansion into the region.
The all-star panel included:
Jesse Blout, Strada Development (Warriors Arena)
Michael Sanford, Kilroy Realty (Kilroy’s Development at 1800 Owens)
Seth Hamalian, Mission Bay Development Group
John Funghi, SFMTA (Central Subway Project)
Steven Richardson, Alexandria Real Estate (Uber Campus)
The panelists discussed the impact the five large and important projects will have on the neighborhood, San Francisco and the region as a whole.
On Saturday, Truebeck (formerly BNB) and our team partners Taylor Design and Interface Engineering participated in the 31st Annual Leap Sandcastle Contest at Ocean Beach. Our team – Sandy with a Chance of Meatballs – built a food-themed sandcastle with over 40 kids from Lafayette School in San Francisco. Through the hands-on competition, we taught the kids how to design, engineer and build a spectacular sandcastle.
A huge thank you to all who volunteered. You made the event a total success. Our sandcastle looked amazing! We hope you and your families had a lot of fun and enjoyed the experience.
With all of your help, our team made a lasting impression on the kids and their parents, who were beyond thankful for the special day. Additionally, we raised $5,000 for Leap to continue arts education in public schools throughout San Francisco. Congrats to all of you for making a difference!
Our very own Nick Pera presented two awards at the Silicon Valley Structures Awards last Thursday. Over 550 real estate professionals from around the Bay Area came together to recognize the hard work, creativity and strategy of landlords, tenants, designers and developers at the awards ceremony.
Nick handed out awards to Sares Regis for Deal Maker of the Year, and Essex Property Trust for Residential Developer of the Year. If there was an award for Best Award Presenter for the night, it would have gone to Nick! His intro bit and speech captivated the audience and made the whole house laugh – he absolutely nailed it. Great work Nick!
Truebeck’s Nick Pera was a panelist at Bisnow’s Future of Silicon Valley Summit on June 11th. Over 300 attendees gathered to hear the City of San Jose’s Mayor Chuck Reed along with ten other high level real estate and construction executives discuss the state of the market in Silicon Valley.
