Located on a 10-acre site this $19.5 million project for the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) includes a 33,800sf Health and Wellness Center (HWC) adjacent to a 28,000sf Medical Office Building. The Health and Wellness Center includes a retail fitness center that is integrated with the hospital’s physical therapy and Cardio Pulmonary Rehab departments. The Center also features infinity edge aquatic facilities including a pool a warm water therapy pool and a spa. It also includes steam rooms a massage room locker room facilities fitness equipment and exercise studios. The adjacent two-story medical office building will house an urgent care clinic primary care facility blood laboratory and additional space for x-ray and ultra sound capabilities. The OSHPD-3 facility will also require extensive site work including removal of underground utilities and the construction of an underground storm water percolation facility.

The project is certified LEED Silver Certification. The project incorporated several unique materials and systems to assist in obtaining the LEED certification. One of the items was construction of a storm water collection and percolation structure beneath the main parking lot. The project also utilized site LED lighting to obtain higher energy efficiency thermally broken window frames and insulated channel glass that integrated aesthetic and energy performance.
